Description
Bei Rückfragen Tel. +49 551/820224! Farbe: rot-weiß, Stoff: grau, Österreichische Auslieferung, Original 1.5L Motor - MATCHING-NUMBERS, Höchstgeschwindigkeit: 105km/h, Vollrestaurierung für ca. 170.000 EUR - einschließlich Karosserie, Mechanik und Innenraum, Original Fahrzeugdokumentation und Stiftung AutoMuseum Volkswagen Zertifikat vorhanden. Zustand 1-. Delivered new to Austria, Original engine. Recent comprehensive restoration, Original documentation available. An early and desirable 'split-screen' model, this remarkable example of Volkswagen's ever-popular Samba microbus left the Wolfsburg factory on 16th March 1965 and was delivered to Salzburg in Austria on 18th March '65. The accompanying certificate issued by Stiftung AutoMuseum Volkswagen confirms the original colour combination as well as the matching-numbers engine. A 1.5-litre unit, the latter produces some 42 horsepower, enough to propel the relatively light (1,150kg) Samba to a top speed of 105km/h. The vehicle was sold via Porsche Konstruktionen KG in Salzburg to its first owner, a Mrs Walburga Wildling of Grossraming, Austria. It is worth noting that the accompanying original old-style Typenschein was signed on behalf of Porsche Konstruktionen KG, Salzburg by none other than Louise Piёch, daughter of Ferdinand Porsche. Mrs Wildling kept the Samba until 1978 when ownership passed to Hans Schraml at the same address, so it would be safe to assume that he was a close family member. The vehicle then passed to its third custodian, who kept it until 1995 when it was de-registered. A comprehensive restoration of the body, mechanicals, and interior was carried out in 2014. Related invoices total some €170,000 and the result can only be described as stunning in every respect. As a result it was judged by an independent expert to be in 'Condition 1-'. Rarely do these desirable Samba microbuses come to the market in such beautiful condition as this outstandingly original example. Refinished in its original colour combination and retaining its original engine, it also comes with important original documentation including the old-style Austrian Typenschein and a service booklet. Most likely the second, the latter covers the period from 1970-1982 and has 12 service stamps.
